Description
Crispy and sweet, this sticky honey chicken is an easy 25-minute dish that delivers bold flavor with minimal ingredients.
Ingredients
1.5 lbs boneless chicken thighs or breasts
1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tsp cornstarch
1 tbsp water
1 tbsp oil (for cooking)
Optional: red pepper flakes, ginger, sesame seeds
Instructions
1. Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces and pat dry.
2. Coat chicken lightly in cornstarch.
3. Heat oil in a skillet and sear chicken on both sides until golden.
4. Remove chicken and set aside.
5. In the same pan, add garlic and soy sauce, then stir in honey.
6. Add chicken back to the pan.
7. Simmer the glaze over low heat, stirring constantly.
8. Mix cornstarch with water and add to the pan.
9. Continue stirring until glaze thickens and sticks to chicken.
10. Serve hot over rice or vegetables.
Notes
Use tamari for a gluten-free version.
Maple syrup can be used in place of honey.
