Description
A delightful winter treat, perfect for celebrating the season with a sweet touch.
Ingredients
6 medium-sized apples
2 cups sugar
1 cup water
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
1/2 teaspoon food coloring (blue or green)
1/4 cup white chocolate chips (optional)
Sprinkles (for decoration)
Instructions
1. Prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and set aside.
2. Wash and dry the apples thoroughly. Insert wooden sticks into the stems of each apple.
3. In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, corn syrup, and vanilla bean paste. Cook over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
4. Bring the mixture to a boil without stirring until it reaches the hard crack stage (300°F) on a candy thermometer.
5. Remove the saucepan from heat and carefully add food coloring, stirring gently to combine.
6. Dip each apple into the candy coating, allowing excess to drip off. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
7. If desired, melt the white chocolate chips and drizzle over the coated apples. Sprinkle with festive decorations.
8. Let the apples cool until the coating hardens, about 30 minutes.
Notes
Ensure that the apples are completely dry before dipping to avoid the candy coating sliding off.
For a more vibrant color, adjust the amount of food coloring to your preference.
Experiment with different toppings like nuts or coconut flakes for added texture.
